The 78-card deck used by Refractorian Tarot esotericists has two distinct parts:
The Tolerable Secrets (minor arcana) consists of 56 cards, divided into four suits: Despairs, Heartaches, Mediocrities and Stagnations. Each suit has 14 cards, ten cards numbering one (the Ace) to ten, and four face cards (King, Queen, Knight, & Page).
The Preferable Secrets (major arcana) consists of 22-cards without suits: The Curator, The Asphixiate, The Charming Alcoholic, The Red Sussurus, The Jewel Ape, The Vinegar Colossus, The Vanishing Lover, My Acrimony, The Unwakeable Dragon, The Thief, The Estate, The Butterknife Pirate, The Mendicant, The Coot, The Were-Hare, The Beckmann, The Red-Winged Blackbird, Saudade, Cesarean Savor, The Amphisbaena, Refractoria, and The Artist. Cards from The Curator to Refractoria are numbered in Roman numerals from I to XXI, while The Artist is the only unnumbered (0) card.

Ashendene the Grey Mother invented and distributed the Pale Alphabet in an effort to unite all Refractorian with a Esperanto-esque language. Huge mistake.
